I know there are more important things than golf, and also that PostWatch could use a little posting about the Post, but I'd be remiss if I didn't blog this from The Golf Channel:
Michelle Wie, an eighth-grade student from Honolulu, has accepted offers to play in two men's events on the Canadian Tour this summer.
Organizers of the Bay Mills Open Players' Championship, Aug. 21-24 in Brimley, Mich., called the Wie family Sunday to offer Michelle a sponsor's exemption. And the Greater Vancouver Classic contacted the family about Michelle playing in its July 31-Aug. 3 event.
The Wies tentatively said yes. The Classic could conflict with the U.S. Women's Amateur.
"I'm happy I got the exemption," Wie told the Honululu Advertiser. "I think I'll play good in it."
Wie is 13 years old. She shot 73 in the Sony Open qualifier.
Competitive golf or cheap circus trick? You make the call.
