Sally Jenkins takes another shot at the Title IX Commission, and I don't have time to get into all of it right now. But one criticism in particular caught my eye because your hear it often from those who defend the current enforcement regime:

The biggest problem with the commission is potential bias: 10 members come from Division I-A football schools, which have a financial interest in weakening the law. These are the schools that find Title IX most onerous to comply with -- so let's give them the most say!

I guess that's one way to look at it. But foes of the current regime feel locked out of the commission, and have a different way of analyzing its voting membership. It has:

*Two members of the Women's Sports Foundation, a virulent supporter of current enforcement
*Two current or former women's basketball coaches
*Two female athletic directors
*Three representatives of the Big Ten Conference, which the WSF website reports "leads all Div. 1A conferences in gender equity compliance"
*The athletic director of Boston College, which just killed three men's teams to achieve gender equity
*The commissioner of the Southeastern Conference, which requires all its teams to have two more women's teams than men's

It's also co-chaired by Ted Leland, the athletic director of Stanford, which leads the nation in women's NCAA championships.
