PostWatch: An irregular correction to the Washington Post

So here's a brief excerpt via of the letter from Mrs. Dusty Avery to the New York Times:

Yes, the people of Augusta, Georgia are upset and yes, it is troubling to have the Masters golf tournament coerced by feminist activists but Mr. Gettleman's story, "Augusta Fears Party May be Spoiled," entirely missed the point of why we feel that way. It is Martha Burk's wild threats of protestors in green burkhas and motorcycle gangs that are the source of the problem.

But the angle of the story seemed to be decided beforehand since Mr. Gettleman told me he was "having trouble finding people to say something negative about the Club." I explained to him that was because the Augusta National is a valued and positive part of our community as an employer and a contributor of millions of dollars to local charities. What's more, I know of no one here who thinks Augusta National's membership policies are improper or that they are anybody's business but the National's...

I know I've been blogging lightly on the Washington Post, but you know what? They're missing all this stuff, apart from late, good work by Howard Kurtz. Runs counter to their ambiance.
