Time magazine this week has Osama bin Laden on its cover, bathed in an ethereal white glow normally reserved for souls that have already been dispatched--with a favorable recommendation--to the next world. The burning question as its blurb: Why Can't We Catch Him?

It's a deeply stupid cover. Could it be that we can't catch him because it's a really large planet and he's hiding?

Incidentally, back on Oct. 21 I noted that was saying with conviction that bin Laden was alive:

19 October: DEBKAfile reveals that the long-lost al Qaeda leader, Saudi-born Osama bin Laden, is alive and inSaudi Arabia. He is believed to have landed secretly at the end of September, shortly before the latest upsurge of international terrorist attacks against the French oil tankerLimburg, the shooting of American Marines in Kuwait, the Bali bomb disaster. This exclusive information reached DEBKA-Net-Weekly (October 18, Issue 81) from its most credible intelligence and counter-intelligence sources. His re-appearance in Saudi Arabia, which withdrew his citizenship and sent him into exile, brings to a close the debate and speculation rife since the Tora Bora battle in Afghanistan 11 months ago over Bin Laden’s fate and whereabouts

I said I'd use it as a test of Debka's credibility. Unfortunately, as you've probably heard, it looks like they knew what they were talking about.
