PostWatch: An irregular correction to the Washington Post

Via Insta...According to Boing Boing and Electrolite, National Public Radio has joined a number of other confused evil web sites trying to ban deep linking, which is what I do every time I link to a story that is not on the Post's home page. The motive is to force everyone to slog through the site as Satan and his fellow marketers intended. The weird thing about trying to ban deep-linking is that it drives traffic down. The web is all about freedom, speed, and connections--connected thought in this case. Most surfers on the way from Andrew Sullivan to Rod Dreher to Amy Wellborn to NPR to the Washington Post will ignore anyone who builds a wall that slows them down for more than a single unnecessary click. This is probably accompanied by a rude gesture. Go to the link above, read Electrolite's account and, using the email there, try to educate the NPR ombudsman.
