IT'S HARD TO CHANGE MINDS IF THEY WON'T LISTEN... PostWatch was contacted by a PR rep for the College Sports Council, representing coaches filing suit against the existing interpretations of Title IX. He emailed us saying that he's had no luck in getting "even a brief word with the Post edit board on the issue." He's been trying to reach the journalist who writes most editorials on legal issues, and has failed to get a single phone call or email returned. He continues:

This despite the fact that our legal argument is an entirely new approach and that we would like to share with them advance notice of our next steps. Last time the Post editorialized on the subject was five years ago, around the 25th anniversary of Title IX. Of course they lauded it and cited Michigan and Wisconsin as schools which were handling the issue well. Since then, Wisconsin has eliminated several men's sports including their long-running baseball program and the Big Ten at large has compiled one of the worst records on gender quotas in the country.

The Post gets deluged with people pitching causes, but getting the inside track on somebody's legal strategy rates as pretty good bait. Heck, at least respect the guy enough to respond to him.
